What is the ISAF Athletes’ Commission?
The ISAF Athletes’ Commission is a group of Olympic class athletes commissioned by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) to give advice directly to the ISAF Executive Committee (the highest group within ISAF consisting of the President, two Kings and seven Vice-Presidents).
The role of the ISAF Athletes’ Commission is therefore to act as the link between active Olympic class sailors and the sports governing body, ISAF.
The ISAF Athletes’ Commission consists of one representative from each of the current Olympic Classes. These ‘Sailor’s Reps’ are elected by the athletes in each specific class every four years. Elections are held the year after each Olympic Games.
